Ear RackDear Maharaja, Pamo agtSP!!! Hare Krsna, The Lord is here stealing the hearts of all the souls. Even my stone like heart. At the moment on lesson 3, module 1 BS. It is nectar to really study Prabhupada's books. Also made a goal of reading whole Siksamrta in 1 month. So much nectar in the letters. Made another goal of memorizing 1 verse a week. Then take the verse and offer it the next Sunday to my Lords... as a gift. Sadhana is well.... can always improve. Getting up at 1am and chanting 16 rounds before seva... then read and back to chanting. Why should we stop at 16? We should pray these rounds never end! Health is doing better, felt so good to be able to offer the Lord some dahl and rice... been getting criticied by some for my preaching.. oh well, always someone has an issue.Again thank you for all the mercy.your aspiring servantPartha-sarathi dasa

APPENDICITIS
First lesson on Ayurvedic Medicine.
Ayurveda is the science of life. The word is composed of two words: ayus and veda.
Ayus means life; The Caraka Samhita states that ayus is the combination of the body, sense organs, mind and soul. Its synonyms are: dhari; which prevents bodily destruction, and jivita, which is what it keeps it alive. Nitiaga, which is used as the permanent essence of this body and, anubandha, that which is passed from one body to another.

NITIAGA and ANUBANDHA don’t mean life, but they explain two important aspects of life. One is the essence of life, its permanence, and the other explains that due to the temporary condition of the body, the soul has a migratory condition.
The other term is veda, which means science, or knowledge. So ayurveda is the science of life, that which explains what life is comprised of, joining sense organs, mind and soul, creating the oneness of what is alive and preventing bodily destruction. However, due to the fact that this body cannot exist forever, the soul passes form one body to the other.

Food for Life

Dear Prabhus,

October is designated as Vegetarian month in the United States and other countries as well. We at Food for Life Global are encouraging all Food for Life Affiliates to observe Oct 15-21 as Feed the World Week. Prasadam distribution on such a scale can do nothing less than give some positive feedback for our mission and at most make an impact on the eternal lives of millions of spirit souls.

At least each center can make some kichari and cornbread to be passed out at homeless centers nearby for a week. Each congregation member can invite guests to their home or rent a hall for people who have not had the opportunity to taste Krsna Prasadam.

Sankirtan parties can go out equipped with Simply Wonderfuls and cookies. Schools can be approached and vegetarian meals can be supplied. There are so many ways we can distribute pure vegetarian food on a large scale. Be creative!

Please send us pictures of your events and we can place them on our website http://www.ffl.org/and feature your stories there as well as in our newsletter. Our aim here at FFL Global is to advertise for all of the FFL programs out there, to facilitate starting more programs and to solicit funds that can be granted to these programs. We are located in the Washington D.C. area and therefore have connections here for around the world.

This letter can be directed to your local FFL representative or any Prasadam distribution enthusiast you have in your community. If there is someone interested in starting a FFL program we can help with that.

If there is no possible way to do anything more, please request donations to be sent to our website so we can help more with Food Relief in the many areas of the world that we already do. Be sure to check out our website and let others know about this most wonderful project to fulfill Srila Prabhupada's dream of feeding the world and spreading Krsna's Mercy.

Feed the World Week

October 15 - 21 will mark the annual observance of Feed the World Week (FWW). During this week, Food for Life volunteers and concerned people in over 60 countries will serve out millions of karma-free vegetarian meals to the world!

The inspiration behind Food for Life, Srila Prabhupada, once wrote: ""By the liberal distribution of prasad (pure vegetarian food) and sankirtan (pure sound), the whole world can become peaceful and prosperous." He also said, "...one earns happiness by making the cows and bulls happy."

Food for Life Global's mission is to UNITE THE WORLD THROUGH FOOD, and so we invite anyone and everyone to join us during this week! Contact your local Food for Life http://www.ffl.org/ffl_fww_contacts.php representative to volunteer some time, or become an advocate http://www.ffl.org/ffl_fww_advocacy.php or donate now! www.ffl.org/ffl_fww_donation.php
Feed the World Week is based on the following principles:
Feed the World Week is based on a simple principle: For one week, the world should experience a wholesome, nonviolent diet, and thus pave the way for a peaceful and prosperous world.
Feed the World Week is an open community event to show how food when prepared and distributed with love, has the power to unite and heal the world.

Feed the World Week is a call for action: for the world to move away from animal agriculture -the greatest cause of environmental destruction and the principle reason why there is so much hunger in the world today. Featured Story at http://www.ffl.org/
